Developing new academic programs to meet the needs of our students and our community is an important process. The decision-making process for new academic programs enables informed decisions in different phases with the most efficient level of effort. This way, the University invests in its top priorities and facilitates communication among departments.
The process for decision-making on new academic programs encompasses five phases.

- Phase 5: External Approvals - Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission (forms available from the Provost's office)
*Please note: This form is to only be used for proposed programs that generally fit within Ƶ's current structure and mission and have limited budget implications. Permission from the Office of the Provost must be sought when using this form. The Office of the Provost will consult with EPC on the use of this form. All other program proposals should use the process outlined above.
