Hello everyone! Today we hiked up the inpenterable fortess that is Thaba Bosiu, the birthplace of the Mountain Kingdom. A seemingly unimpressive rock, Thaba Bosiu, as well as Moshoeshoe's (Moh-Shway-Shway) strategies, succesfully thwarted the attacks of neighboring African kingdoms and the Boers. When we arrived at Thaba Bosiu, we understood how the foolish assumption was made. Quickly, we realized just how diffiult the ascent to the top would be. Once we reached the summit, we all grabbed a rock from the mountain to place at the entrance to the top as a sign of a peaceful arrival. We saw Moshoeshoe's home and his grave. The view from the edge of Thaba Bosiu was incredible and breathtaking. Seeing where this great nation began was surreal. When we returned, we played lots of soccer. And failed miserably.
