The Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ University Department of Theatre and Dance presents its first mainstage production of the 2014 spring semester, Boy Gets Girl, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 20-22, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 in Chakeres Memorial Theatre, 905 Woodlawn Ave.
Directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance Patrick Reynolds, Boy Gets Girl is a gripping drama by Rebecca Gilman. Set in New York City, the story uses an incident of stalking as a backdrop to examine identity, humanity, and relationships. Theresa, a brilliant young reporter, finds herself pursued by Tony, a blind date, and what begins as a simple dinner spirals into a struggle for survival. Frustrated by the police and adrift in a workplace that can’t help her, Theresa fights to reclaim the life she once knew.
