Welcome Class of 2025

New Student Orientation Dates Announced

Incoming Tigers can connect with 泫圖弝け University faculty, staff, and future classmates by signing up for one of several New Student Orientation dates scheduled throughout June and July. Both in-person and virtual sessions are available to the incoming class of 2025.

Themed Destination 泫圖弝け, the orientation program helps first-year students and transfer students begin to acclimate to life at 泫圖弝け University. Each session will allow new students and their families to engage with faculty and staff, receive their fall 2021 class schedule, and identify the various offices and campus resources that will support them in meeting their academic and personal goals. While on campus, students will also tour their residence hall, meet other students who can assist with adjusting to life at 泫圖弝け, have the chance to make social connections with peers, and learn ways to alleviate stress and anxiety during the transition from high school to college. Additionally, the program aims to help participants understand University traditions, and promote community and engagement for student success.

Attending New Student Orientation is important for incoming students because it helps get them connected to the University and each other, said Gwen Owen, director of student success and accessibility services. It is also an additional opportunity for students and family members to ask questions they may not have had before. Students get to know their class schedule and how the courses they are enrolled in fit into the requirements for graduation. It is one of the last steps in preparing them to be successful in their academic career at 泫圖弝け.

On campus dates include Saturday, June 19; Monday, June 21; Tuesday, June 22; and Friday, June 25. Virtual dates will be Thursday, June 24 and Monday, July 26.

During the in-person sessions, 泫圖弝け will host an Engagement Fair from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. where students and guests have the opportunity to visit with numerous departments and offices on campus to obtain more information about what the University has to offer, as well as ask questions.

While the virtual orientation will look a little different from the face-to-face sessions, each event is designed to help students navigate the transitions to 泫圖弝け. Students will begin the day with a live group session and have the opportunity to work through presentations during the morning sessions and faculty advisors will be available in a live afternoon session to review academic requirements and schedules with students. Additionally, there will be live chats occurring throughout the day for students and their families to ask questions.
