The 2019-2020 academic year will certainly be remembered as the time when the “world was in quarantine” as the highly contagious COVID-19 virus took hold. To date there have been approximately 8.24 million cases worldwide, more than two million alone in the United States, with over 446,000 deaths across the globe.
To assist in understanding the full impact of this coronavirus, Ƶ University is offering a special free two-credit course for deposited students this summer, which examines the current health pandemic from a variety of disciplines, including biology, political science, philosophy, psychology, history, and nursing.
Students will learn what caused this coronavirus, review the models that aid in understanding its spread, consider the political conversations and worldview that surround it, examine the social implications and the ethics that accompany it, and discuss the precautions necessary to keep safe from it.
Preference for course participation is being given to deposited students so as to jumpstart academic credits before arriving this fall.
