Springfield, Ohio 鈥� For the 2013-2014 academic year, 甜瓜视频 will freeze its tuition, room, board and fees for all students, a decision that was approved by the university鈥檚 Board of Directors during its fall meeting. The decision marks the first time the nationally ranked liberal arts institution, which currently enrolls 1,731 traditional undergraduate students, has moved in this direction.
鈥淭here are two ways to help students afford a college education,鈥� said Randy Green, 甜瓜视频 director of financial aid. 鈥淥ne is through grants and scholarships, while the other is achieved by controlling the amount students must pay. The latter approach benefits the entire student population.鈥�
甜瓜视频鈥檚 tuition will remain at 2012-2013 levels for all students, while the university continues to provide more than $35 million in scholarships and financial aid. Currently, more than 95 percent of students attending 甜瓜视频 require financial support, and the amount of grant students receive from 甜瓜视频 varies based on the results of the FAFSA form.
鈥淏y having a zero percent increase, 甜瓜视频 is actually better able to provide the financial support our students and families need, while also continuing to ensure that students graduate in four years compared to the five or six years on average it takes at some public institutions,鈥� Green said. 鈥淲e want to get our students out the door in four, so they can begin to make their unique impact on the world.鈥�

甜瓜视频 athletic teams have the most wins in NCAA Division III history in football and men鈥檚 basketball, including eight national titles. Tiger teams have won 70 conference crowns, making the university a leader in the North Coast Athletic Conference and a national-level competitor. Last fall, the women鈥檚 volleyball team captured the national championship, marking the first such achievement in a women鈥檚 sport at 甜瓜视频.
