Kuss Science Center

Officially dedicated in September 2003 following an extensive renovation and expansion, the state-of-the-art Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center is home to Ƶ's science departments.

Located on Bill Edwards Drive, next to Hollenbeck Hall, the Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center houses some of Ƶ's most popular majors in the departments of biology, chemistry, geology, physics, mathematics, data science, computer science, environmental science, information systems, and nursing. It is also home to cooperative programs in engineering, marine biology, and occupational therapy with leading research universities.

The 141,025 square-foot, technologically rich structure contains a wide range of classroom and laboratory space, including cell and microbiology labs, organic chemistry labs, and neurobiology and physiology labs, allowing students from all disciplines to participate in hands-on learning experiences and to collaborate with faculty members in ground-breaking research.

The beautiful David L. Hobson Atrium connects the original 1966 building with a 45,000-square-foot addition that was completed in 2003. The center as a whole offers unlimited avenues for exploration, creativity and scientific inquiry. Located on the ground floor of the science center, Simply-To-Go is a common stop for students in between classes or after getting out of lab. Breakfast and lunch items, including Starbucks coffee, are offered there during the day.
