What Can Students Do With A Career In Marketing?
Marketing makes things happen. Nothing happens in business without a sale. Someone has to make something that someone else finds valuable and is willing to pay for in order to obtain it. Therefore, some marketers conduct research (marketing research determines what is that valuable thing and who would like to own it) while others focus on product development (product managers determine how to make that valuable thing). Still others are focused on telling the customer what it is that makes that thing valuable (e.g., brand analysts, brand consultants, advertising creatives, advertising account managers, advertising media specialists, brand managers, category managers, trade promotion managers, consumer promotion managers, etc.).
